A Call from a Friend

The phone rings. You see it’s Mehmet. You answer quickly — they’re already on their way. You decide to meet up later to spend a relaxing day together. Your spouse asks you something from the article she’s reading. You try to remember what you had read earlier and share your thoughts with her.

But at the same time, your mind is busy with small Monday work plans. You’re lost in your thoughts… until sunlight hits a motorcyclist’s helmet visor and brings you back to the present. You take a deep breath and think:

“What a beautiful day! Hidden Valley A Peaceful Escape in Nature

So Much Missed in a Hurry

As you pass the motorcyclist, you realize you missed a cozy breakfast spot on the right. You didn’t notice the new pine trees growing after the forest fire a few years ago. You automatically turned left at the crossroads — but if you had turned right, it would have taken you to a charming little village.

Busy with changing CDs and finding the highway, you also missed the sign pointing to Europe’s largest Steam Power Train Museum. As you drove along the winding road from Gökçealan, you didn’t see the train riding beside you. And the porcupine? You never saw it at all.

The Rider’s Perspective

But I… I was riding a motorcycle on the same road, on this calm Sunday morning — and I saw everything. I noticed the little details that make life beautiful Walking Tours Istanbul.

After just 15 minutes on the road, the smell of fresh gözleme drifted through my helmet visor. It made me hungry, so I stopped at a small authentic restaurant, where I enjoyed a peaceful breakfast with the sounds of birds singing in the background.

Moments Worth Noticing

Later, I saw the headlight of a train — probably the Denizli Express. We rode side by side for a bit. I slowed down, waved, and honked. The train driver didn’t notice me, but that’s okay.

As I passed the train before a big curve, I saw something brown on the road. It was a porcupine! It was nervous, with its sharp quills standing up, hurrying across the road.

Riding up the beautiful Gökçealan road, the soft wind whistling through my helmet wasn’t just a sound — it felt like freedom calling. It reminded me why I ride: not to rush from place to place, but to feel the journey.

The Road Less Noticed

Sometimes we’re so caught up in life that we miss the beauty around us — the small surprises, the hidden places, the smells, the sounds, the feelings.

But when you slow down — really slow down — you start to see it all. And that’s when the ride becomes a discovery.
